FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across
America who are re-inventing our food system. Each has witnessed the rapid
transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the
consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural
resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they
offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet.

In Food, Inc., filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the
veil on our nation's food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly
that's been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our
government's regulatory agencies, USDA and
FDA. Our nation's food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations
that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American
farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment.

Why Organics ...
The
implementation of an organic program is intended to re-establish and
balance the soil profile with microbial life. Mother Nature intended
for her forests and grass lands to be self preserving. Soil life
provides the nutrients needed for plant life and the plants provide
nutrients in the form of carbohydrates and sugars known as exudates
to the biological soil profile.
Organics are...
Organic products are sustainable and are insulated from energy market
volatility. Our products are based on marine byproducts, essential
oils and soil micro-biologicals.
Organic pesticides are safe and just as
effective
In university studies testing mosquito knockdown (death) of adult
mosquitoes found that cedar oil at 0.44% was all that was needed.
Our essential-1 product is 4% cedar oil
Organic weed control works great
Testing at Iowa state university showed up to 93% control of crab grass
with liquid corn gluten meal. The gluten-8 product treats 4000 per
gallon
Synthetic fertilizers are a waste
Did you know that only 40% of applied nitrogen ever reaches the plant! The
rest enters wells, aquifers, rivers and bays, most volatizes in the
air mixing with ozone to make nitrous oxide which is 298% stronger
than co2 as
a greenhouse gas.
Who
waters the forest and grasslands?

Organics can help conserve water. It can reduce the water
needs 30% to 60%.
The tiny microscopic
bacteria and fungi contained in the soil profile increase the
porosity in the soil that holds capillary water. Capillary water is
a “film” of water that is not affected by gravitational pull and
remains available longer to the plant roots.
According to the US Department of Agriculture, National Resources
Conservation Service, by enhancing the soils organic matter, a
series of soil changes and environmental benefits follow.
Surface structure becomes more stable and less prone to crusting
and erosion.
Water infiltration increases and runoff decreases and the soil
structure improves.
Soils rich in organic matter hold 10 to 1,000 times more water
and nutrients than the same amount of soil containing only
minerals.
